Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

Formerly known as food stamps, SNAP helps low-income individuals and families buy the food they need for good health.

Federal program that provides nutritious foods, nutrition education, and healthcare referrals to low-income pregnant women, new mothers, and young children.

National School Lunch Program

Federally assisted meal program operating in public and nonprofit private schools that provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost or free lunches to children.

Eligibility:

Children from families with incomes at or below 130% of the poverty level qualify for free meals; those between 130-185% qualify for reduced-price meals.
